There had to be a hybrid on this list and since Audi didn’t send me their R8 e-tron I had to find the most fun hybrid that I could.  The Honda CR-Z is a great little car.  It only has two seats, so forget kid seats in the back and large dogs for that matter.  Don’t buy it with the automatic CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission). The CVT improves fuel economy, but will drive petrol heads insane.  Just about the time that the power and torque really come on, it shifts.   Even in Sport mode the CR-Z is conscious that it is a hybrid and tries to help the environment.  The 6 speed manual transmission makes this car significantly better.  I whipped this car through rush hour traffic with ease.  It’s bigger than a Smart Fortwo, but just so.  It creates 122hp from its 1.5L four cylinder engine and has an electric motor to help with low end torque.  Fully optioned the price is very close to $25,000 just like another two door coupe…

Thank you to Frank Ancona Honda (www.frankanconahonda.com) for letting me irritate rush hour traffic with this little wasp of a hybrid.
